Being with God,
Being for the World,
as Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters

Could God be calling me...

The call to be an Adoration Sister: how do I know if I have a vocation? I look at my life, at my desires and inclinations, my talents and abilities. I ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and enlightenment.

I consider deeply in prayer and reflection what the life of an Adoration Sister is all about. I read the literature, and then question, "Is that what I want: to live their way, that of a contemplative - missionary, in a community, separated from the world, consecrated to God, for others? A life centered on the Eucharist, in the friendship of the Holy Spirit, daily getting to know better the Blessed Trinity which is the point and purpose of my existence - to know and love and serve God better each passing day? And all of this in community, with the support of like-minded women, in spite of my many faults and weaknesses, trusting in His infinite mercy?"

I realize that a vocation is not so much a choosing on my part, but a call from God, a personal invitation to seek Him in a specific life-style. The contemplative way is a life of prayer and sacrifice, where Jesus is our chosen Beloved and we expend ourselves in loving Him. He says, "Love Me, love My Church," and His plans for mankind become ours.
